Short Bio

I have a long-standing activity in Bayesian methodology as a principled framework for learning from data. I am also engaged in causal reasoning to address real-world problems.

Scientific Research

Over the years I have worked on many aspects of Bayesian statistics, from priors, model choice, and hierarchical models to graphical models and Bayesian networks. More recently my research has focused on experimental design, replication studies and especially causal inference based on Directed Acyclic Graphs. I am also keenly interested in leveraging causal reasoning to foster more robust and explainable AI systems.

Teaching

My teaching experience spans undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral courses in Statistics. I have also held leadership roles as coordinator of master’s-level programs and as a member of a PhD steering committee.
